Archive "Treasure Trove" Weekend: Loud, proud and dangerous to know! 34 members of the
Norfolk Senior Section with a few Guiders and Trefoil Guild members thrown into the mix, once
again took up residence at Patteson Lodge to continue the work in hunting out the facts, stories and treasures of our own heritage.
We continued to develop a Rainbow Heritage Roundabout - watch out, its coming your way soon - continued to supply the raw information for the Patteson Lodge History Group who are recording the history of our Lodge, tracked down details of Lady Mayhew and her Silver Guiding Inkwell, rummaged through countless books to discover songs both old and new and continued to record, catalogue, develop resources and sort the extensive county badge collection. Each project was run by a small group of interested Senior Section and Guiders and with a team of able QM's to support the workers, progress was swift and efficient.
QUOTES:
" I sorted out Hexi Burner kits ready for DofE participants to use on their expeditions. I also looked through lots of old recipe books to help them chose suitable meals to have on the travels. I then put my own cooking skills to the test and helped make buns for everyone's snack! I had so much fun and learnt lots about our heritage!"
Natalie Featherstone.
"This weekend I polished the trophies lining the staircase at Patterson Lodge. I also worked on a project where we were designing a page for the book for old and new Rainbow Uniform. It was great fun :)"
Bethan Gibby.
We braved the threat of snow to enjoy the 4th Active Archive project weekend and look forward to our next adventures into history!
Archive Resource Centre
But what is the ARC? Well because we have such a marvellous collection of archives, uniforms and badge collection, one of the best in the country, we are building the ARC - Archive Resource Centre. It is to be purpose built and will house our things in the best environment to keep them safe from bugs and beetles so they will be there to be shared with members of the Movement throughout our next century.
So we are about to launch a big fund-raising campaign and these quizzes will hopefully raise some money towards our project.

One of the girls has done us all proud, as well as herself. Look at her wonderful video diary, enjoy and get a feel of what it was like those fabulous ten days in August 2007.
